As part of my role in designing and updating the existing core UI for Dim, the media player was another key piece of the UI/UX that needed to be updated in order to scale and add new features and improved controls.

The existing player layout was reimagined as well as designing new features and functionality designed around the principles I had established for this project with the web interface.

The original player while barebones was fine for basic viewing needs but lacked many controls and features that users have some to expect on other platforms.

While the newly designed player has been updated visually, it also includes a series/chapter viewer as well as controls for audio and video settings, all designed within the player space.

The minimal approach can be see throughout the new Dim design language—with an emphasis on laying out all the necessary controls such as video and advanced settings all in one seamless popout window.

Dim is still in active development.

I am working with the team to expand the platform, so check back here soon with new updates and additions.
